she rode me
bare back
deftly controlling
my every movement
with subtle squeezing
of her thighs

her eyes, my bridle
my body, her saddle
her hands, a whip
my stamina, the measure

she rode me
bare back
until she reached her destination
then she rode me some more

she guided me across rivers
she led me down mountain paths

she showed me how to move
through the places i’d never dared to alone

and when she was done
she brushed me down
massaged my aching muscles
and spoke soft soothing words into my ear
telling me
comforting me
reassuring me

helping me to know
that i did good
and that i am worthy enough
to be her steed
